    KEMIO is currently supporting a young biotechnology company based with R&D labs in Barcelona and another small site in the US.

    This team are developing new drugs from patient data and delivering them back to the patient.

    Using cutting edge tech, precision medicine and multi-omic approaches, they have already had huge success identifying new targets and are heading towards the next round of funding in 2024.

    Due to drug targets building and more pharma partnerships being agreed, we are looking for a new Post Doc Bioinformatics Scientist to join the labs in Barcelona.

    Ideally, we would like someone on-site at least 2 days per week. This role will be integral to combining data from genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, metagenomic, proteomic and single-cell sequencing levels.

    Working with an exceptional team of bioinformaticians expert genomic scientists and medical researchers, we would like you to bring high-level technical expertise and new ideas to the group.


    You will also be involved in the development of QC, processing and analysis pipelines for multi-level biological data (i.e. RNA-seq, GWAS, proteomics, epigenomics, metagenomics, single cell RNA-seq). This role requires strong statistical experience to conduct statistical association analysis and model construction. You will also work closely with the board members to communicate your work and report on results.


    Other skills and expertise required:
    PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology or closely related areas.

    Single cell or spatial transcriptomics experience is essential Experience in analysis of new high throughput data types (NGS, Proteomics, Cytomics, Genetics)Good background biological knowledge on human diseases, immunology would be a huge plusGood communication skills in EnglishEligibility to work in Europe / SpainExcellent programming skills, fluency in R and Python Our team at KEMIO will be conducting interviews throughout January with the goal of hiring the successful candidate in March and April.
