Job Purpose and Impact:


The In-Market Strategic Pricing Lead is a member of the market leadership team and reports to the Managing Director, will lead the development and execution of pricing strategies, tactics, processes and tools in support of the business' vision, goals, priorities and commercial strategy.

In this role, you will work closely with Commercial Leadership, Strategic Marketing and Technology (SMT), Risk Management and Sourcing (RMS), BOSC, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead the execution of profitability optimization projects across Cargill Animal Nutrition and Health and provide leadership for the continuous optimization of critical pricing capabilities such as value based pricing, customer, consumer and retail pricing, large deal pricing and negotiations and pricing science, analytics and technology.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Work with the Managing Director, Regional Managing Director and Commercial Excellence team together to build trust in the value of Strategic Pricing by moving "pricing" from an internally focused and processonly role into a strategic role that provides insight and guidance in the commercial space, positioning strategic pricing as a decisionmaking body safeguarding our strategy.
  • Lead the execution and governance of price setting process that includes design rights, accountabilities, and approval thresholds and deploy strategic pricing capabilities at a granular level (species, segment, subsegment, geography) aligned with their strategies, market dynamics and needs.
  • Drive pricing execution in the business, by guiding and training commercial leadership to understand the "right" strategic drivers for the business and align and develop a pipeline of continuous profitability improvement activities.
  • Develop, mature and own data sets, tools, and reporting for commercial and pricing decision support.
  • Develop execution strategies for the deployment of pricing as an endtoend process from strategic considerations to actual price setting techniques, governance and supporting technology.
  • Monitor trends and pricing developments and trends and ensure new thought leadership and new capabilities are introduced.
  • Lead the execution of different pricing strategies and improve sustainable profitability in collaboration with various internal functions, including commercial, product line, sales, marketing and finance.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fastchanging business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in a Business, Finance, Economics or Agriculture related field
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key business leaders and be a key thought leader
  • Meaningful experience in Strategic Pricing and related experience with customerbacked value, ingredient markets and pricing strategy
- practices to optimize value across business

  • Soft: communication skills, change management skills, strong ability to collaborate and influence within a processhonoring organization
  • Ability to manage and direct work of pricing analysts and provide professional development opportunities
  • Hard: quantitative ability to direct and interpret detailed analysis; Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, overall strong analytic skills
  • Understanding of (agricultural) commodity markets
  • Understanding of the geopolitical environment and how this can affect the business
  • Minimum of six years of professional experience ideally within pricing, marketing, merchandising, sales, and/or finance
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or other quantitative field
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Tableau, Power BI and PriceFX
  • Familiarity with Alteryx, SQL, R, or other programming and database tools
