The Role:

Here's What You'll Do:

Own all packaging related activities for assigned sites/products

Be a packaging SME for the organization

Provide packaging technical support to the External Manufacturing teams and CMOs

Lead packaging tech transfers to new CMOs

Ensure that packaging is developed and executed to meet Moderna's requirements

Ensure that all packaging activities are properly documented (specs, drawings, qualifications, change controls, etc.)

Maintain current knowledge of packaging operations and capabilities throughout the network

Support investigations and quality events related to packaging (CAPAs, Deviations, Complaints, etc.)

Optimize how we do things - SOPs, Work Instructions, Specifications, Ways of Working, etc.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
BS or MS in a scientific or engineering discipline

8 years' experience in a relevant packaging role

Expertise in developing vial and pre-filled syringe (PFS) secondary and tertiary packaging (labels, cartons, leaflets, cases, pallet patterns)

Experience with packaging equipment - labelers, cartoners, case packers, palletizers, variable coding equipment, visions systems, etc.

Experience in writing, reviewing and approving packaging documentation (specs, drawings, equipment qualifications, change controls, etc.)

Experience working with contract manufacturers

Experience in executing shipping qualifications (ASTM, ISTA); Cold Chain experience preferred

Knowledge of serialization requirements and serialization technologies

Outstanding / effective communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to operate effectively in a small company environment

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and drive them to completion

Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment

Ability to understand business implications of technical decisions.

Experience in a GMP environment is required

Experience with artwork and labeling is preferred

Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical environment is preferred
