The Work:

The Head School Counselor (Psychologist) works across all divisions to support students'
social-emotional and academic success. They effectively communicate with teachers, inclusion
specialists, and administrators to develop and implement solutions to learning, behavior, and
wellness challenges. The overall goal of the Counselor/Psychologist is to ensure that all
students are positioned and supported to thrive while also working to create a safe and
nurturing environment. Additionally, the School Counselor plays a key role in the admission cycle
and is responsible for developing methods to collect, review and disseminate information
relevant to student support and success.


Responsibilities:

Provide crisis intervention, ongoing monitoring, and assessment of students- Design and implement Brewster Madrid's wellness program; supervise the counseling
- program across Brewster Madrid's campuses
  • Provide individual counseling, group counseling, and crisis counseling to students
  • Provide psychosocial evaluations on students, as needed
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of students to ensure individual needs are met
  • Assists in implementing data collection systems to track student progress
  • Engage in community outreach and promote a culture of wellbeing
  • Partner with the leadership team to provide relevant training, workshops, and

- presentations
  • Support and participate in the social and emotional learning program
  • Attend and participate in team meetings
  • Assist the Admissions team to guide parents and children regarding the admission to
Brewster Madrid

  • Collaborate with faculty teams around the individual needs of students
  • Participate in staff and parent meetings to discuss results of individualized assessments

- and learning plans
  • In conjunction with the School Leadership Team, prepare requests for accommodations

on external tests:
AP, IB, SAT, ACT


Qualifications:

Master's degree in counseling, childhood psychology, or school psychology- Bilingual - Spanish and English

  • Demonstrated experience in school counseling services
  • Leadership skills, including organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to connect joyfully, appropriately, and respectfully with students, faculty
- colleagues, and parents, as needed
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice
  • Strong coordination, evaluation, and assessment skills to promote best practices
  • Deep and broad knowledge of counseling, health and wellness education across the

- developmental stages
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and energy
  • Commitment to lifetime learning, and professional and personal integrity
  • Relevant license and certification
