RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and review content to support end users, IPC technicians and partners:
  • Using a topic-based DITA tool chain,
  • Researching product management and development documents,
  • Illustrate technical documentation with photographs, drawings, diagrams, and screenshots as needed.
  • Test and update procedural material against developing versions of the product.
  • Review and revise draft documents with input from developers and other stakeholders.
  • Understand revision control and content management to coordinate work with multiple other writers.
  • Produce deliverables in multiple formats (PDF, Help, EPUBS, etc.) for multiple audiences.

Desirable Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Fouryear degree in a related field (communications, English, computer science, engineering).
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience in a development environment, documenting products that include both hardware and software components.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing clear and concise copy for multiple audiences on highly technical topics.
  • Familiarity and comfort with the dynamic nature of an Agile development process.
  • Significant experience (> 2 years) creating content using an XML editing tool such as XMetaL or oXygen XML Editor or equivalent.
  • Significant experience producing documentation in a structured environment that includes a content management system and multiple delivery outputs.
  • Knowledge of the following:
  • Server hardware, firmware and software
  • Linux and Windows operating systems and system administration
  • Telephony, including VoIP
  • Network hardware and software
  • Flexible and independent with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate with crossfunctional teams in geographically dispersed locations_._
