About the role
The role of the Mng.

Data Architecture, is a key position within Group Technology, Digital & IT Strategy & Architecture team, responsible for ensuring that the strategy and architecture is adhered to in the adoption of data governance that will use and process Vodafone data, influence the technology strategy by defining, designing, maintaining and evolving the development and implementation of architecture solutions to particular business cases in alignment with the architecture direction and standards.

You will liaise with our stakeholders to gather requirements and also research & investigate current industry trends and standards to enhance and optimise our data management solutions.

Data Architecture, you ́ll be in charge of the following responsibilities:

Lead the delivery of architecture vision, standards and develop technical stories which are aligned to defined architecture principles and patterns
Create architecture, support design, implementation, and delivery of enterprise Data Governance solutions, ranging from various initiatives
Data Governance, Data model, Data integration/movement, Data Catalogue, Data Quality to name a few
Develop and maintain reference architecture for those that are fit for current purpose as well as future proof it to aligning and converging with long term strategic technology advancements
Research and define different ways data can be gathered, analysed and managed in order to enable effective data management & governance using advanced or emerging technology including AI/ML, etc
Understand different data processing and storage methodologies for batch and realtime, like BigQuery, RDBMS, Columnar/Graph databases, No SQL, Kafka, RESTful API, Spark, etc. and use appropriate ones per use case.
Define, manage, and assist in maintenance of all governance documents and processes to enable successful execution of architectural strategy
Build common consensus on the architecture within each of the numerous local markets & group functions and subsequently enable implementation of it
Enable alignment to Vodafone Technology Standards
Assist with the creation of Requests For Proposal (RFPs) on technical requirements, evaluation of answers and supplier shortlisting during RFP process
Assess new requirements and research technical feasibility and system requirements
Assist in technical impact assessment to analyse impact on solution architecture when new requirements are received
Assess technical design from vendors:
Review designs proposed by software development vendors, ensuring fit with reference architecture and golden rules
Measure implementations against reference data architecture and recommend improvements
Innovate by finding new ways of solving problems and exploiting market opportunities
Identify opportunities to provide different and better solutions whilst achieving business benefit.

Experience in leveraging the best experience in industry and technology and providing a systematic approach towards data governance & data management.
Expertly familiar with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, and their impact on our processes, procedures, and tooling. You will have run or participated in projects meant to align company technology with GDPR requirements.
Adopt new technologies and vendors to enable innovation and identify technical enablers.
Experience in the following technologies would be advantageous:
Collibra (Data Catalog)
Ab-Initio
Informatica (DQ)
EA SPARX, Power Designer
Works with others to develop, refine, and scale data management and analytics procedures, systems, workflows, interactive dashboards, reports, best practices, and other issues.
Provide estimates for allocated work items and participate in project estimation. Regularly report progress on allocated work including issues that threaten the quality or timeliness of the work.
Excellent analytical skills
Very good communication skills
High level of motivation
Able to work well within a multinational, multicultural environment.
Experience in production environment of No SQL, Graph and Columnar DBs
Experience in Google Cloud or other hyperscalers
University educated preferably in fields of CS, and sciences
Preferred Certification on DAMA CDMP & TMF SID
