The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukaemia and related disorders, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.


The IJC has laboratories in 6 locations:

i) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol (IJC's headquarters) ii) Hospital Clínic, iii) Hospital de Sant Pau, iv) Hospital del Mar, v) Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, and vi) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona.

IJC serves as a collaborative centre for basic researchers and physicians to work together on fundamental clinical and biological aspects of leukaemia.

THE POSITION
The teams of Dr. Esteban Ballestar and Dr.

José Luis Sardina, located at the headquarters of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (Badalona, Barcelona, Spain), are looking for a Project Manager for the Marie Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) IMMERGE with Grant Agreement number The IMMERGE network is training 11 PhD fellows from 9 European organisations, both academic and non-academic, in the novel concept of multi-omic characterization and genetic correction of Inborn Error of Immunity (IEI).

IEI are monogenetic defects that lead to a broad spectrum of diseases, such as recurrent infections, chronic inflammation, or bone marrow failure.


WHAT WE NEED

  • You have some project management experience, ideally in European projects MSCA of the Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe framework programmes.
  • You are a highlyorganized person, collaborative and communicative.
  • You have capacities in problemsolving, prioritization, and autonomous time and workflow management.
  • You have a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English as this will be the working language of the IMMERGE network. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan will be a plus.
  • You are proficient in working with MS Office suite tools, have experience in or willingness to learn content management systems (CMS); experience using data bases will be positively valued.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the research and training network IMMERGE (MSCA-DN) and support the Project Coordinators Esteban Ballestar /José Luis Sardina.

You will be the interaction hub between all involved administrative units and researchers from the IJC and all participating partners from different EU as well other non EU countries.

You will be the key contact for the 11 PhD fellows recruited through the project.

In particular, you will closely interact with the IJC Grants Office and EU Project Officers and with their guidance execute all management-related tasks that will include:


  • Coordination of all management aspects related to the project such as preparation and execution of meetings, agendas and minutes, recruitment processes, and assisting the Project Coordinators in daily coordinating activities.
  • Organization and administration of all training activities, both virtual and inperson, to be organized within the framework of the project, including travel and accommodation/catering arrangements as needed.
  • Management of the reporting obligations of the consortium.
  • Financial and legal followup of the project (including budget control) and reporting to the European Commission (REA) with the direct supervision of the Project Manager of the International Team (Grants Office).
  • Set up and implementation of quality procedures, including risk management and feedback processes.
  • Coordinating and documenting the communication and dissemination activities of the network in collaboration with the Communications Units of each beneficiary. It includes management of the IMMGERGE website and social media
  • Participate in other activities of the Grants Office.
