Your tasks:

  • Design and implement libraries, frameworks and services (e.g. in Python, Scala)
  • Contribute to improving the machine learning lifecycle, e.g.
- continuous delivery for ML
- functionality for monitoring quality of ML models over time
- build tooling that allows for estimating effects of ML models
- facilitating the transition from model development to deployment of models

  • Design and implement components in a sustainable fashion (e.g. automating training of ML models; balance between complexity of models, computational costs, ease of use)
  • Contribute to our Machine Learning Platform and Data Platform by developing reusable data processing components, utility functions, etc.
  • Support Data Scientists and Engineers from the company, enabling them to use the platform we are building

Your skills:

  • BSc or higher degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Experience on cloud environments (preferibly AWS)
  • Very good programming skills in Python
  • Experience with the full machine learning lifecycle
  • Sound theoretical and practical knowledge about machine learning and operating MLbased solutions
  • Solid experience and enthusiasm to design scalable architectures (in particular in distributed systems)
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient English language skills (German is not required)

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with Scala (or any other JVM based language)
  • Experience with Hadoop ecosystem
  • Experience with developing search and recommender services throughout their lifecycle

  • Our Data Science, Engineering and Infrastructure team is responsible for helping to turn data into services and products for New Work SE.
  • Over 20 scientists and engineers work together to create highly scalable solutions which serve millions of users.
  • We work on problems related to information extraction, mining user interests, search, recommender systems, etc. and make use of data mining and machine learning techniques to tackle these problems.
  • We are an international team with people working from multiple locations in Germany, Spain and Portugal.
  • We are working intensively on a platform for automated machine learning. Therefore, we are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer who can help us with the design and development of libraries, tools, frameworks and platform services that facilitate development of MLbased components and services.
  • With our work we are trying to make machine learning development more efficient for the Data Scientists and Data Engineers in the company.
