The Role:

Our Early Career Programs (ECPs) such as our Summer Internship and Morningstar Development Program (MDP) are two of the largest pipelines of people into Morningstar., and we are looking for a bright, energetic, and driven individual to serve as an Operations Lead focusing on Early Career Programs in EMEA.

You will sit at a critical intersection between Operations, Talent Management, and Talent Acquisition to create and scale our programs as Morningstar grows.

This role reports to the Director of Career Development and Transformation and will matrix report to People & Culture EMEA Director of Talent Management to develop and execute on strategy.

This role is based in our Madrid office.


What You'll Do

  • Set and drive strategy to hire, place, develop and support the Early Career Programs in EMEA, collaborating with the broader Careers and EMEA P&C teams.
  • Be the first point of contact for ECP employees and their managers for support related to P&C processes. Help to foster community for ECP employees through facilitation of workshops, trainings, and career guidance.
  • Develop, improve, and oversee training curriculum for Morningstar Development Program participants, while continuously working to enhance the program participant and manager experience.
  • Serve as a region leader to drive stakeholder engagement and increase program footprint across EMEA, working closely with business leaders, business partners, and the global EC team to scale,
  • Partner with the program participants, their direct managers and Talent Acquisition to place new and current program participants into open positions, balancing individual career interests and needs of the company.
  • Regularly share program demographic updates and insights with key stakeholders, including members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This includes developing and tracking KPIs that lend themselves toward program success and analyzing MDP Pulse survey results
  • Partner with global ECP team and EMEA campus hiring lead to execute overall program recruitment strategy. Be a key stakeholder during the campus hiring process to ensure the continuous recruitment of talent in the region that will thrive at Morningstar.
  • Serve as an escalation point within the region for questions about EC Programs, via ServiceNow and in general. In addition, continue to think of new ways for stakeholders to support ECP.
  • Liaise with counterparts in ECP and Operations across the globe to share best practices and ensure consistency of process and employee experience.
  • Supports MDPs, their managers, and the ECP Manager during the annual compensation and talent processes.
  • Serve as an escalation point for performance management and coaching for managers and EC employees.
  • Continuously find ways to best scale programs whether through process transformation, automation and innovation, leveraging new technologies or leveraging an external network to learn best practices.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in management or behavioral science (e.g. Industrial or Organizational psychology, HR Management, or Psychology) is preferred. Masters or MBA in similar fields or equivalent experience preferred.
  • European residency required
  • Relocation required or up to 15% travel in the EMEA region
  • Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, strong analytical skills and curiosity
  • Demonstration of a high level of discretion and professionalism relating to sensitive or confidential information
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and proactively take responsibility
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Solid understanding of the EMEA landscape
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience and a proven track record in a service, project management, program management, management of early career talent, or People & Culture.

Competencies

  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations in the development of new MDP tracks.
  • Ability to educate, train, and communicate with People & Culture counterparts, managers, and employees in areas of Early Career Programs. Able to help managers understand career programs and Morningstar's philosophies on compensation, hiring, and career development.
  • Ability to utilize and leverage core business and HRspecific resources, processes and technologies when solving business challenges.
