Job Description:


  • To develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize market share.
  • To be responsible for the hotel's overall room inventory availability, ensuring that inventory controls are applied and revenue maximized.
  • Produce the resort's Annual Multi-Year Commercial Strategy Plan, in partnership with onproperty leaders and regional support.
  • Connect the performance needs of the hotel with the solutions designed by the Fairmont brand enterprise, in each key segment the hotel serves.
  • Work with Commercial Leadership to ensure that preopening and Group Pricing and rate Quotation Strategies are in place to maximize all pricing components of sales and catering opportunities and achieve positive market share.
  • Work with Commercial Leaders to establish optimal business mix, review and validate revenue forecasts to improve accuracy while developing strategies for different demand periods, and review and approve retail and group pricing strategies.
  • Develop and execute departmental expense budgets and forecasts.
  • Must be able to train and monitor the group, transient, and events contractual, legal, and risk agreement practices, establish booking guidelines and pricing expectations, have full knowledge of sales and events booking platforms, and uphold all company policies and procedures associated with managing these systems.
  • Develop and maintain detailed and realtime knowledge of all competitor and market activity.
  • Responsible for the execution of the Fairmont Sales Incentive Program.
  • Responsible for recruiting and retention of all sales and marketing roles.
  • Lead, engage, and develop team members, including ongoing performance development and Career Development Plans.
  • Liaise with Fairmont Global Sales, regional support, and brand teams.
  • High level of engagement with customers from all sales segments.
  • Support of sales managers' sales travels into feeder markets.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with subordinates, peers, and superiors.
  • Attend select overseas trade and travel functions to promote sales and enhance the hotel's image.
  • Supervise the management of the Delphi Sales & Catering system in the office and maintain uptodate standardized Delphi Sales & Catering records.
  • Plan and execute sales trips to major market areas, reporting potential new markets.
  • Continuously analyze and review local and international market changes, proposing and executing programs in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Maintain close relationships with key decisionmakers in local and international markets.

Qualifications:

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role in luxury sales is required.
  • A solid track record of sales achievement in the service and hospitality industry is essential for this role.
  • Ideally, you will be externally wellnetworked and aware of local, national, and global commercial trends.
  • Fluent proficiency in both Spanish and English is essential.
  • A university degree is a prerequisite for this position.
  • Excellent research skills and analytical abilities.
  • Further education, and advanced degree coursework in business administration, marketing, and communications are a plus.
  • Adaptable experience in business strategy, business planning, and business plan development.
  • Familiarity with working in large matrix organizations.
  • Knowledge of Opera, sales, and catering software products is advantageous.
