General summary


Support the drive a scientific approach to sales whilst embedding a performance based culture, transforming front office operations and directly influencing operating income results.

This includes the definition and implementation of a common sales strategy, digital sales transformation; optimising European sales team sizes & resourcing and implementing new technologies, including CRM, to achieve profitable sales growth targets in line with the corporate goals.

He/she provides deep knowledge to transform, standardise, and optimise Tech Data's sales operations leveraging best practice sharing of structured methodologies, tools and processes across Europe.

He/she closely partners with country management teams, directing and coordinating activities, taking ownership for the completion of projects/objectives within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Closely works with key members of local frontoffice organizations across TD European operations to implement (ontime / onbudget) sales improvement initiatives that meet corporate objectives.
  • Assumes accountability for the results of the country operations for sales and directs efforts to increase the profitability of existing products and customers, facilitating the prioritization, and deployment of key sales management levers.
  • Monitors and analyses customer satisfaction and financial / operational performance of frontoffice operations in the areas of sales/Ecommerce to identify major deviations against predefined KPIs recommending remediation actions and strategies.
  • Coach and develop sales management and staff across the European Organization on advanced sales methodologies, processes and tool (SAP CRM, Country Sales forecasting, Ebusiness, sales incentive targeting systems, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain the European Commercial excellence program to ensure the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities are retained, uptodate and are effective in driving revenue and increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains indepth market knowledge, customer channel and product segment market share understanding to develop business management processes that support sound, strategic sales planning, customer satisfaction and profitable growth.
  • Actively participate in the design and implementation of Europeanlevel sales enhancement strategies, methodologies and processes that help protect and enhance the company's market shares & margins.
  • Collaborate with TDIT and incountry business leaders to driving functional & system innovations for sales (SAP CRM, QMT, IPT Telephony etc.) supporting prioritisation and leading the business rollout.
  • Acts as a key role model to the organization demonstrating the highest adherence to the corporation's key values of Integrity & Respect, Passion for Winning, Leadership, Ownership and Partnership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, European Commercial Excellence or Vice president of Vanguard

Experience, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, skill and/or ability required.

  • Over 2 years of functional experience in a related frontoffice discipline, ideally sales/sales consultancy
  • Fluent in English, other languages a benefit, exceptional verbal, written and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a multicultural and multiskilled team
  • Process optimization/reengineering/harmonization experience is favourable.
  • Advanced analytical and fact based decision making.
  • Previous experience implementing large projects (ideally sales or customer related) or effectively partnering with country organizations
  • Willingness to travel and to work outside from home country up to 80% of time
  • Experience in relationship building and facilitation skills with business partners; influence without authority; comfortable interacting with Senior Management
  • Exceptional verbal and writte
