The Senior Event Manager - is a leadership position based in Madrid, working with Europe-based clients, responsible for leading and managing the planning, coordination, and execution of high-profile Automotive in-person European training events.

This role requires a high level of skill and experience in event planning and management, working both autonomously and with direction (as needed), with exceptional organization, communication, and leadership abilities.


A typical day in this role might include:

  • Understand event cycles and management of workstreams (functions), including but not limited to: venue management, production coordination, hotel room blocks, vendor management, site inspections, and creative design and implementation, participant registration management.
  • Collaborating with internal and external teams to execute event experiences (virtual, hybrid and inperson) for the target audience
  • Support with developing strategy, vision and creativity to events local, inmarket knowledge of cultural nuances
  • Managing the development and production of the event plan
  • Understand, solve and lead client asks, developing a strong client relationship
  • Key internal and external spokesperson and representative of event projects
  • Act as main point of contact for client(s)
  • Conceptualize and lead strategic client programs, drive planning process and understand event scope
  • Lead and manage client/program budgets developing budget tracking tools, ongoing monitoring of budget spend (P&L reports) and adhering to all financial deadlines
  • Cultivate upselling opportunities, support with building events business in Europe
  • Maintain and lead procurement negotiations with external service providers including venues, hotels, AV / IT services, security, food & beverage/catering, furniture rentals, print & production, DMCs, etc.
  • Lead largescale programs, bring leadership and guidance to extended team members (across internal workstreams/functions)
  • Lead onboarding of new Europebased vendors
  • Support with resource allocation and delegation, direct and indirect project team management, production planning, etc.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating consistent 'center of excellence in client service, quality of work and behavioral standards
  • Mentor and guide team members in professional development and job performance
  • Lead internal meetings, and act as the main point of contact for all event elements
  • Support internal crossfunctional project status meetings, identifying risks/opportunities, problemsolving and troubleshooting
  • Own processes to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
  • Build great relationships with internal, external and client stakeholders
  • Work remotely with stakeholders located in multiple markets (primarily with Bond Headquarters in Toronto, Canada, and client teams in Europe and the United States)
  • Maintain indepth knowledge of the client's business in Europe, support with identifying new business opportunities within existing client business and netnew opportunities
  • Keep up to date on trends, new technology, clients' businesses, and finding new ways to innovate and lead the industry local to each European market we represent
