    A leading airline is looking for a 'Powerplant Specialist' to be located in Madrid/Dublin.

    Job PurposeAs a Powerplant Specialist in the Maintenance & Engineering Department you will enable the airline to meet the Regulatory requirements of EASA Part M (Part CAMO) and fulfil the requirements of the National Airworthiness Authority approved manpower plan for Engineering – Powerplant section.

    The Maintenance & Engineering Department helps to drive the airline's ambition by ensuring the engines meet both Regulatory requirements and OEM standards to achieve the highest possible dispatch reliability for the aircraft engines and reducing flight cancellations.

    ContextThe company as an AOC holder is required to have a Part M structure in place to manage the continuing airworthiness of the fleet.

    The Engineering Department is responsible for the Part M compliance of the company's fleet.

    Within the Engineering department the Powerplant section is tasked with ensuring the engines meet both Regulatory requirements and OEM standards to achieve the highest possible dispatch reliability for the aircraft engines and reducing flight cancellations.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Provide continuing airworthiness management for a series aircraft
    • Evaluate mandatory maintenance requirements e.g. ADs, ETOPS, etc
    • Evaluate OEM and vendor technical instructions e.g. SBs, VSB, AOW, AOT etc
    • Evaluate aircraft/engine/APU upgrades and modifications
    • Manage the implementation of modifications in accordance with EASA part 21J including RFQ, approval process, and implementation
    • Generate Engineering Orders in AMOS to accomplish continuing airworthiness requirements
    • Manage the shop visit/overhaul of aircraft engines/APUs including workscope preparation, LLP replacement, AD and SB call-up and review Repair Specifications/OEM workscope documentation
    • Review of trend data to monitor the health of Engines/APUs and analyse trend shifts/troubleshooting with OEM
    • Support Line and Base Maintenance to ensure aircraft serviceability and provide support to other departments in Aer Lingus as necessary (including Materials, Quality, Air Safety, Planning, Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Finance)
    • Provide call-out support as required to assist MCC in AOG/work stoppage situations
    • Facilitate the acceptance and return of Aircraft to lessor/airline (through document inspection, physical aircraft/engine inspections, borescope records, LLP status, engine shop visit history, SB status, etc)
    • Develop and support the implementation of Lean within the Technical Services DepartmentRequirementsAeronautical, Mechanical, or related Engineering degree.
    Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
    Fluent in English.
    Spanish will be valued.
    AMOS knowledge will be valued.
