Data Scientist - Energy Market Analysis

Your responsibilities

Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models and algorithms for energy market analysis. Analyse historical data, market trends, and external factors impacting the energy market to identify patterns, correlations, and potential risks.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather relevant data inputs, validate model outputs, and refine forecasting methodologies to reflect current and future market and regulatory scenarios.
Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to design and implement data infrastructure and data pipelines.
Support the development of innovative datadriven solutions and products to enhance our market analysis capabilities.
Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to effectively communicate findings and analysis to internal stakeholders and clients. Deliver qualitative and quantitative analysis in written or oral form.

Your qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, maths, physics, or a related field. A master's degree or higher is preferred, especially in Power Systems Engineering or Data Analytics.
3+ years of related experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with a focus on energy market analysis and forecasting. Preferably in business areas like (energy) consultancy, utility (focusing on energy markets), developer or financial institution.
Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques. Knowledge of energy market forecasting and familiarity with power market datasets and relevant data sources are preferred.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, etc.).
Good verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish and English.
Selfdriven, resultsoriented with a positive outlook and focus on quality. Strong problemsolving abilities and attention to detail.
