    Context And Mission
  • Within the Management Department and reporting to the General Counsel, the mission of the Legal Officer will be to assist the legal seniors on IP Software and Computing; especially on opensource software/hardware, artificial intelligence, data mining. Your role will be primarily focused on IP Law.
    Key Duties
  • Provide legal advice for IP Law, opensource, data mining, artificial intelligence, copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, academic and commercial licenses, creative commons licenses and other IP matters related to contracts/agreements.
  • Draft and review collaboration agreements, research and scientific contracts, software licenses, transfer technology agreements, joint ownerhip agreements, NDAs, MOUs and the like. Spotting and advising on legal issues and risks.
  • Advise the different departments on legal queries as needed, including summarising and communicating legal concepts and helping assess different levels of legal risk.
  • Draft internal policies or guidelines on IP. Conduct seminars and trainings on IP.
  • Advice on personal data and data sharing.
  • And other legal tasks requested by the General Counsel as needed.

Requirements:


  • Education
  • Degree in Law
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • At least 23 years of experience on a similar role. You have experience advising on a range of commercial/scientific matters with a good understanding of Intellectual Property and privacy issues.
  • Master on IP Law.
  • Experience in an international environment, specifically in a public research or scientific organization.
  • Specific knowledge of Data Protection Law.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft office and Power Point.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written Spanish, Catalan and English
  • Competences
  • Advanced English.
  • Ability to work in a professional environment within a multidisciplinary and international team
  • Ability to work independently and with diverse internal teams
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure

  • The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department
