It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads largescale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 900 staff from 55 countries.

Context And Mission
The datacentric computing group from the computer science department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center searches for 1 PostDoc on highperformance computing topics, willing to work on Cloud Architectures in EU projects, for the course

Key Duties

Project management at technical level (Local PI)
Management of PhD Students on HPC topics
Management of deliverables, participation in project meetings and EU review processes
Give mutual support to other researchers in the project and research group

Requirements:

Education
Ph.

D. on computer science or related fields (ICT, Mathematics,...)

Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
Domain on Data Analytics, High-Performance Computing, and Cloud Computing topics
Scientific papers (conference and journal) preparation, publication and dissemination
Preparation of EU/national project proposals
Experience on managing EU projects
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Skills on using distributed environments like Spark
Skills on Cloud systems
Skills on Reproducible Research (Notebooks, GIT, etc...)
Understanding of high performance computing and distributed system concepts
Competences
Good English communication skills
Ability to work independently and in the context of a team/project
Ability to manage a team/project
Flexible work schedule and available for travelling

Conditions

The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department
We offer a fulltime contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with stateoftheart infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
Duration: Openended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
Starting date: May
