As Head Digital Risk Control - Business Units, you will own all first-line digital & technology operations risk and control activities for Swiss Re's business units - ensuring risks are identified, controls applied, and the performance is monitored, measured, and reported to our technology and business leaders. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.

team:

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, corporate security, governance, operational resilience, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security and digital risk governance & control strategy.

Digital Risk Control - Business Units team drives control design and operating effectiveness for the IT domains across business units.

We're looking for highly motivated team leader who is passionate about driving our organisation's risk culture.


In your role, you will

  • Lead the Digital Risk Control
  • Business Units team for Swiss Re
  • Be accountable for leading the implementation of the digital risk framework and establish a strong risk culture within the organisational structures
  • Ensure threats and risks are understood, issues are handled timely, and that controls are designed and operating effectively
  • Embed controls into operational procedures by collaborating with our digital & technology teams to automate, measure performance, and continuously improve our risk position
  • Establish operational transparency and reporting with continuous monitoring and assessment of controls, ensuring we meet our risk appetite, while driving corrective actions where needed
  • Lead, inspire, and develop the Digital Risk Control team by establishing an environment which enables autonomy and proficiency for all team members
  • Provide a development programme which enables all staff to continuously improve their skills crafting a space for continuous learning and growth for the team
  • Be someone who believes in continuous innovation, is curious and steadfast in finding a better way every day
  • Be a leader who understand that it takes a diverse set of skills and individuals to form a highly effective team
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our overall strategy as a member of the leadership team

Your qualifications:


  • Passion, drive, and a belief in the value of digital risk management as an enabler of business performance
  • Strong people management and leadership skills and enthusiasm for building a successful team
  • Ability to build a strong collaborative network within IT and business departments
  • The ability to convey information to diverse audiences from Senior Management level to IT development teams
  • A track record of successful delivery in IT governancerelated roles, such as IT audit, operational risk management, and cyber security
  • Knowledge on insurance, reinsurance business, and contemporary technology solutions
  • An elevated level of integrity, resultefficient approach, and composure under pressure
  • Distinct communication and pronounced stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
