We are developing a
new Centre of Excellence and is seeking a
Group Director HTA Statistics and Programming (HSP)
to join our Global Market Access and Pricing (GMAP) function**.

The GMAP team within AstraZeneca leads by shaping the payer environment; creating and delivering highly valued market access solutions to unlock the potential of our life-changing medicines.


What you'll do
In this role, you will lead and manage a team of statistical and programming experts.

You will be responsible for driving methodology development, implementation and ensuring high quality analytics for use in global HTA submissions, across the cardiovascular, respiratory and vaccine portfolio.

With your ability to connect people you'll provide leadership and strategic direction to the development of extraordinary HSP capability as a member of the GMAP Team.


By working cross-functionally and with your counterparts in the other Business Units within a global environment you'll maintain a high standard and level of knowledge and understanding regarding payer evidence requirements - from an analytical, modelling and simulation perspective.

You'll provide statistical support using quantitative skills to support decision-making processes and value demonstration, including contributing to HTA submissions.


Essential for the role

  • Proven leadership of successful teams and empowering and enabling others to accomplish individual, team and organisational objectives.
  • Drive statistical thinking in crossfunctional team projects.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a global group of statisticians, ensuring the successful delivery of projects while also considering the development needs of the team.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and quantitative decision making.
  • Participate in adapting and developing statistical methodology.
  • Contribute to development of new procedures and standards to increase quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Influence key stakeholders and governance.
  • Act as a technical expert in interactions with external providers and collaborators
  • Work with regulatory and payer agencies, e.g. attending meetings, answering questions.
  • Provide mentoring to more junior staff and present at internal training seminars.
  • Degree in relevant field such as mathematical sciences (e.g. mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering).
