Senior Manager, Data Science - Nielsen Sports


As one of our two global data science experts, you will play a vital role in maintaining and developing our main products that rely on data science.

You will also represent our product team in conversations with our most important clients, where data science expertise is required.

Reporting to the Global Head of Consulting and Research within the Nielsen Sport global product team, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business in commercial, product, and operational positions.

In addition to leading key product initiatives, you will contribute to other projects led by different teams.

Your responsibilities will also include training and developing junior data scientists and maintaining strong partnerships with academic institutions on behalf of the business.


SKILLS

  • Coding skills
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R (including relevant associated libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Jupyter Notebook, etc.).
  • Experience in Data modeling
  • Handson experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks and libraries.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in numerical analysis.
  • Indepth understanding of statistics.
  • Experience in predictive analytics and pattern recognition.
  • Ability to structure, automate, and repeat analyses.
  • Strong understanding of model validation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Natural Language Processing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with version control.
  • Experience in Exploratory Data Analysis.
  • Proficiency in AWS and Power BI (or other visualization tools like Looker or Tableau) is preferred.
  • Analytical thinking, innovation, and problemsolving mindset.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings logically and in an easytounderstand manner to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to tell stories through data and visualizations.
  • Commercial experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Fluency in English is required as it will be the primary language of communication.
