THE OPPORTUNITY

Ledn is seeking a Head of Technology (Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Systems Manager) to lead the governance, security, resilience, and day-to-day operation of the ICT systems supporting our Spain entity ("Ledn Spain"). The role is responsible for ensuring that Ledn Spain's crypto-asset services are supported by robust, secure, and resilient ICT arrangements in compliance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation ("MiCA") and the Digital Operational Resilience Act ("DORA").

As the accountable owner of ICT operations, the role has authority over systems, architecture, access, and operational controls and provides senior management with clear oversight of ICT risk and digital operational resilience. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and participate, where relevant, in regulatory interactions relating to ICT, security, and operational resilience. They will bring hands-on technical depth — able to contribute directly to code, tooling, and automation — and will leverage AI-assisted workflows to accelerate security operations, incident response, and platform resilience as Ledn scales.

ABOUT THE ROLE

ICT Governance & Strategy

• Own the ICT systems and ICT risk framework supporting Ledn Spain's critical and important functions.
• Define and maintain the ICT strategy in alignment with business objectives, outsourcing arrangements, and regulatory requirements (including DORA and MiCA).
• Provide senior management with clear oversight of ICT risk, digital operational resilience, and material system changes, while coordinating with Ledn's global Technology team to ensure group standards and architecture meet local regulatory requirements.

Cybersecurity & Technical Leadership

• Lead Ledn Spain's cybersecurity posture, including threat modelling, risk assessment, control design, and continuous improvement.
• Implement modern security practices such as Zero Trust architecture, secure-by-default software development (SSDLC), and DevSecOps integration across CI/CD pipelines.
• Oversee penetration testing, vulnerability management, incident response, and secure cryptographic key and wallet infrastructure appropriate to a crypto-asset service provider.
• Ensure compliance with recognised security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF) and lead certification and audit activities.

ICT Operations, Security & Resilience

• Ensure the availability, performance, security, and resilience of ICT systems supporting Ledn Spain.
• Maintain core ICT processes including asset management, secure configuration, change management, monitoring, logging, and backup and recovery.
• Lead ICT incident response and root-cause analysis, and support regulatory notifications and supervisory follow-up when required.

AI-Augmented Operations

• Champion the responsible use of AI and automation across engineering, infrastructure, and security operations.
• Deploy AI-assisted monitoring, threat detection, and observability tools to improve operational efficiency and incident response.
• Establish guardrails for the responsible use of AI tools, including data handling, model risk, and emerging AI-related security threats.

Hands-On Technical Contribution

• This is a hands-on leadership role. Contribute directly to security tooling, automation, infrastructure code, and architecture design.
• Review security-relevant code, improve platform resilience, and set engineering standards across the technology stack.

Third-Party & Outsourcing Oversight

• Oversee the ICT governance aspects of third-party and intra-group service providers supporting critical functions.
• Maintain the DORA Register of Information and ensure outsourcing arrangements meet regulatory requirements for audit, access, and operational resilience.

Reporting, Controls & Assurance

• Maintain ICT policies, controls, and documentation.
• Provide regular reporting to management on ICT risk, incidents, vulnerabilities, and resilience.
• Support internal audit, external audit, and supervisory inspections.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of experience in ICT operations, infrastructure, or cloud environments, including experience acting as Head of Technology, ICT owner, or a similar role responsible for production systems in a regulated or risk-sensitive environment.
• Strong hands-on cybersecurity expertise, including threat modelling, penetration testing, secure software development (SSDLC), Zero Trust architectures, cryptographic controls, and security incident response.
• Experience securing cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, and container or serverless security.
• Demonstrated coding ability and comfort building or maintaining automation and internal tooling (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
• Experience maintaining security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or DORA, ideally using GRC platforms such as Vanta or Drata.
• Working knowledge of DORA ICT risk management requirements, including asset management, incident management, vulnerability management, network security, and ICT third-party risk management.
• Experience operating technology systems supporting financial services or crypto-asset platforms.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, auditors, and regulators on ICT risk and resilience matters.
• Experience operating within international or group technology environments while maintaining accountability for regulated entities.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check if selected
• Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience supporting MiCA authorisation or operating under EU financial regulation.
• Familiarity with crypto-asset custody infrastructure, wallet security architecture, and cryptographic key management (KMS/HSM).
• Experience with modern security tooling or AI-enabled security platforms (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, or cloud security platforms).
• Relevant cloud or security certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP, CISSP, CISM, OSCP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer).
• Experience with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
• Experience working in international or remote-first technology teams.
