Impact of the Role:


As a Senior Software Engineer at Wingspan, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology by developing cutting-edge solutions that empower businesses and improve people's lives.

You will work alongside a team of passionate and talented engineers, helping us maintain our position as industry leaders and ensuring our products continue to outperform the competition.


What you'll do:


  • Design, develop, and implement highquality, scalable software solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including Product, UX/UI, and QA, to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery of projects
  • Continuously improve and optimize existing software systems by identifying inefficiencies, refactoring code, and implementing best practices
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives, to ensure project success and team alignment
  • Contribute to the growth of our engineering culture by sharing knowledge, mentoring new engineering hires, and actively participating in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities to incorporate these into our tech stack

Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience with at least one backend programming language (we use Node & Typescript)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and API design best practices.
  • Understanding of Git, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in crossfunctional teams and adapting to diverse perspectives
  • Experience in proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements and driving the adoption of best practices to optimize crossfunctional collaboration and overall team productivity.
  • Track record of promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and techniques to enhance backend system performance and capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects endtoend, from initial planning and scoping to successful implementation and delivery, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business objectives.

Requirements:


  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in objectoriented programming
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and system testing
  • Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development
  • Experience with agile development processes, such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives

Nice to have:


  • Experience with SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts (especially BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with DBT (data build tool) or similar data transformation tools.
