RESPONSIBILITIES
BASF is expanding the existing Engineering Hub focused in the field of battery materials. You contribute to BASF's future by driving exciting large capital projects.

As a Process Engineer, you will:

Provide process engineering support for capital projects in the process design, simulations, process safety and environmental permitting.
Support the development of lowest cost project scopes that meet schedule and functionality targets.
Provide support in the design of the operating plant with the objective of achieving best in class variable cost.
During the Project Scope Development, the Process Engineer is in charge of generating PFD's, P&ID's, Specification Sheets, etc as required by the project deliverables.
Support Economic and technical evaluation of Alternatives
Prepare all process information for safety reviews
Participate in safety step reviews and appropriate Value Improvement Practices.
Manages and supervises engineering contractors work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering and 5 or more years of relevant experience in investment projects. Other disciplines with proven process design experience are also considered.
Basic understanding of process equipment design including but not limited to pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, etc.
Prior Experience in the Process Design and/or Operation of solids handling systems and associated equipment is considered a plus.
Basic familiarity with engineering, purchasing, accounting and construction practices.
Good communication and computer skills.
Selfstarter with high level of results orientation.
Prior experience in the field of Battery Materials or Battery Recycling is a plus.
Entrepreneurial action, the constant desire to drive innovation and out of the box thinking.
Thorough understanding of engineering deliverables for large capital projects and multidiscipline projects.
Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
English languages are required. Spanish and German language skills are considered a plus.
Willingness to travel frequently and for an assignment abroad: Projects Design Phases and/or Execution will take place in different locations in Spain and globally.
