As business operations product owner you're responsible for the seamless operations of specific programs on the platform.

The key objective is to have a smooth end-to-end internal operation of the distribution partner's insurance program, from policy creation to claims fulfillment.

You will take care of the implementation of processes, analysis of the operations and alignment across the different departments.

Seeing that you're the key liason for the different stakeholders, you'll have first-hand insights on improvement opportunities and work closely together thereon with the product owner and tech teams.

Tasks

  • Preparation of partner and product launches: configuration of insurance products, configuration of templates, process alignment and continuous communication with stakeholders
  • Classification of incident / event management → feature gaps vs. improvement in training and knowledge sharing on platform capabilities
  • Alignment, coordination and rollout of improvements (whether process or platform changes)
  • Update and maintaining the documentation of specific insurance programs
  • Internal spokesperson for the specific insurance program → providing the information on how the program is setup and continuously reviewing the smooth operations of policy and claim creation
  • Close collaboration with the product manager and tech teams on platform improvement opportunities

Requirements:

Skills and competences required in the business operations product owner role

  • Domain expertise: Knowledge of the insurance market and product area (segment). You know the customer and understand his requirements. Further than that you understand the business and how the company operates
  • Operational ability: you're good and keeping a general overview of operations but love to dive deeper into the nittygritty details to spot loopholes, opportunities for improvements and process gaps and understand the actual daytoday operations on the ground.
  • People skills: Many people within your company are looking to you for guidance and will come to you with questions, for advise or understanding of the operations.
