    CIDETEC Energy Storage seeks a researcher for the Energy Materials Unit.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Project management and laboratory staff supervision.
    • Development, characterization, and optimization of Solid-State Batteries (SSB) towards project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including failure analysis and post-mortem analysis.
    • Investigation of physical-chemical and electrochemical properties of solid electrolytes, electrodes, and cell components.
    • Data analysis and interpretation.
    • Writing project proposals, technical reports, patent applications, conference abstracts, and scientific manuscripts.
    • Participation in technology transfer and scale-up of developed materials and technologies.

    About the Role

    The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, working independently according to a defined work plan. The researcher will be responsible for multiple tasks simultaneously, optimising resources and maximising results.

    Requirements

    • PhD in Electrochemistry, Physics, or Material Science.
    • Excellent knowledge of technical electrochemistry, advanced batteries, and material science.
    • 3 years of direct experience in lithium battery R&D environment (SSB, Li-ion, Li-metal etc.).
    • Conceptualization of R&D activities in cell development and characterization.
    • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with assembly, manipulation, and comprehensive testing of coin and pouch cells.
    • Main electrochemical (EIS, CV, galvanostatic cycling etc.) and physical-chemical (FE-SEM, XRD, FTIR, XPS etc.) characterization methods.
    • Synthesis and processing of composites.
