What are we looking for?
The position requires an individual capable of working with multiple areas simultaneously

Among others:

With Data Engineering to design the next generation analytical Platform.
With other Data Holding AA teams in order to advance the agenda in terms of Time to Value, Training, Model Governance, etc.
With COEs from all Specialties to understand and diagnose the needs of the different teams.

Minimum Requirements

At least 10 years of experience ideally in analytical roles (Data Scientist or equivalent).
At least 4 years of experience managing diverse teams.
Good technical skills in BBVA ́s Data & Analytics ecosystem.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent English skills.
Team player.
Availability to travel if needed.

Overview

BBVA is in the middle of a huge transformation in order to become a truly data driven company where data and analytics powers all aspects of banking.

The Advanced Analytics Discipline is at the forefront of this transformation.

The Discipline is composed of +800 Data Scientists and Managers who are organized in multiple Centers of Expertise (COEs) and distributed across all BBVA ́s Areas and Geographies.

These teams are responsible for the design and implementation of all the Machine Learning/AI models that power BBVA ́s Apps & Processes.

From Digital Sales, to Onboarding & Identification. From Fraud Detection of Anti Money Laundering. From Credit Risk to Pricing.

As of today, hundreds of BBVA ́s Processes embed a critical piece of smart software developed by the AA COEs.

But many more remain ready to be reimagined.

The position requires an open minded individual ready to challenge the status quo, especially as we move BBVA ́s data platform to the cloud.

About the job

Main Functions

Design & develop the tools and processes required to execute analytics projects on the new BBVA AWS Data Platform.
Maintain (and if necessary tweak) the tools and processes required to execute analytics projects on the Datio Platform.
Guide the different AA Specialties as their members start incorporating the new Ways of Working in their daytoday activities.
Represent, as a stakeholder, the AA Discipline in the Platform Migration Project.
Scout market tendencies in search of better tools, processes and practices that BBVA could embrace in the short and long term.
Participate in the design of the course syllabus for the Data Scientists of the group.
Be a reference figure in the AA CoP Discipline.
