ROLE SUMMARY:


  • King's Infant School is is seeking to
-
appoint an EYFS/KS1 teacher to join us on a permanent basis in August 2023.

  • The role of the EYFS/KS1 Teacher is to work under the guidance of the Key Stage Leaders to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching and to help raise standards of achievement for all pupils. To enable young children to make good progress in their learning by building upon the skills they have and to assist all pupils to develop emotional security, selfbelief and mature social skills. The class teacher will have outstanding knowledge and understanding of either the EYFS Framework or the English, Welsh or Scottish curriculums and be able to recognise the unique child and plan for their development using both the indoor and outdoor environment. To encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school, and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support pupils, staff and curriculum.
  • To plan and assess for pupils.
  • Maintain exceptional relationships with other staff, pupils and families.
  • To contribute professionally to the whole school development.
  • To plan and teach phonics programme using Read Write Inc.
  • Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed.
  • Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to increase achievement of all pupils including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Contribute to effective assessment and planning by monitoring, recording and reporting of pupil progress and use this to identify, and support, student underperformance.
  • Embed opportunities for regular formative feedback that is effective in accelerating learning and ensure feedback loops are an ongoing dialogue to embed deep learning.
  • Where appropriate, use documentary strategies for formative assessment that make learning processes visible

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


  • A dynamic and proactive teacher, preferably with independent sector or international experience
  • Strong team player willing to support other colleagues
  • Excellent working knowledge of the English National Curriculum and recent developments
  • Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
  • Have a PGCE teaching qualification that is recognised in UK schools (with or without QTS)
  • Have recent experience in a school which follows the English, Welsh or Scottish National Curriculums.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Hold either an EU passport or have the right to live and work in Spain.
