The Position:


Purpose

OnPrem & Backup team serve globally our internal Roche customers and IT partners operating Roche DataCenters globally (EMEA, NALA and APAC).

In this role, you will reduce errors and increase the reliability of the Virtualization platform contributing to its evolution, maintenance, and continuous improvement, ensuring services meet operational targets, and achieve high availability and performance in meeting Roche's business needs.

You will have a strong customer focus providing consultancy services to our internal consumers.

Scripting and IaC development will be driven by you to achieve the highest degree of automation and API utilization, enabling seamless integration and delivery.

Job responsibilities

• Deliver new features and capabilities for the Virtualization Product in order to provide highest value to the customers.
• Drive scripting and IaC development to achieve the highest levels of automation and use of APIs, enabling continuous integration and delivery.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design through deployment, operation, refinement and decommissioning.
• Monitor and resolve Incident/problems with platform operations, setting priorities and ensuring all areas collaborate in the resolution when required.
• Collaborate with IT Partners, other IT departments and Managed Services suppliers in the design and delivery of complex IT solutions.
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
• Look for continuous improvement activities both in technical, teamwork, collaboration and processes areas.
• Ensure solutions and components implemented comply with Quality/Regulatory standards, as applicable

Continuously improves reliability, incident response, infrastructure management and toil reduction by:

• Using Service Level Objectives to govern how services are managed
• Executing blamelessly root cause analysis
• Uses chaos engineering & automated incident response
• Responsible for activities focused on availability, tuning, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response and capacity planning to provide a cost effective solution for our customers.

Technology skills required

• Virtualization technologies (VMWare, AHV), Hyper Converged infrastructure (Nutanix, AOS), HPe Blade Systems and Software Defined DataCenter. design concepts, installation, administration and second level support.
• Infrastructure Disaster Recovery solutions for virtualization (SRM, Data Protection, vSphere Replication, stretched cluster). Network virtualization with NSX
• Infrastructure as Code/Automation
• Reliability and Observability
• DevOps and CI/CD

Job Requirements

• Moderate travel required and ability to work across multiple time zones, including oncall and extended hours of work.
• Provide direction and guidance acting as analyst by transforming the customer needs into specific requirements to be implemented in components or managed services managed by the team or by other teams.
• Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Serves as a technical point of contact for highly complex enterprise wide technologies. Leads complex troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis.
• One or more industry certifications in the respective infrastructure solution area(s) is highly desired
• Passionate about technology, trying new things and eager to learn and develop in the technical area.

Education / Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• You will bring 3 years of relevant work experience in one or more multinational work environments.

Location:

We offer a hybrid model between the Madrid Osiris office and the home office.
