Clinical associated researcher

Research Area of Infectious Diseases

The Infectious diseases Group is a multidisciplinary research team that collaborates in the development of new antibiotics,
new treatments for healthcare-associated infections or serious community-acquired infections such as SARS COV-2,
endovascular and osteoarticular infections, HIV infection and treatments for tuberculosis through participation in clinical
trials and research projects to improve the quality of life of patients with infectious diseases.

VHIR offers vacancy/vacant position for a Pre-Doc Clinical Investigator within the Infectious Diseases Group


Education and qualifications:

Required:

  • Medicine degree
  • Specialist in Internal Medicine
  • Clinical training in Infectious Diseases (at least 2 years)
  • Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of nosocomial infections

Desired:

  • Good level in spoken and written English (C1 level)
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, SPSS or similar, webpage, webmail).

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

  • Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of healthcareassociated l infections
  • Knowledge of antibiotic use optimization programs (PROA) and nosocomial infection surveillance in
Catalonia (VINCaT)

  • Knowledge of control infection measures
  • Experience in clinical trials and clinical research
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

Main responsibilities and duties:
Development of a research project leading to the preparation of a doctoral thesis

Selection, inclusion and follow-up of patients in clinical trials regarding nosocomial infections and COVID

Clinical assessment of patients with nosocomial infections developing consulting tasks regarding clinical
management at both diagnostic and therapeutic level

Participation in the multidisciplinary clinical case discussion committees in which the Infectious Diseases
Service participates.

antibiotic optimization policies and programs for monitoring and prevention of multidrug-resistant
microorganisms nosocomial transmission.
