Under the direction of the Oncology Market Access Strategy Head, the Value Access Precision Medicine Manager will play a key role by developing strategic and long-term partnerships with relevant Oncology stakeholders, decision makers and politicians in the complex Oncology ecosystem, focusing on advancing patient identification across a range of cancer types, through supporting the delivery of AstraZeneca's integrated oncology Precision Medicine strategy.

Through this work, the Value Access Precision Medicine Manager will contribute to an effort to design, develop and deliver the next generation of national Precision Medicine plan in Oncology, working in close partnership with the Local Diagnostics team.

He/She will collaborate with Oncology Corporate Affairs Team to create a holistic organizational vision for the future of cancer policy and work with regional and country-level teams to localize and advocate for reform.

Accountabilities

Develop strategic partnerships

  • Identifies and engages policy national and regional Precision Medicine leaders and decision makers and collaborates with the Oncology diagnostics team to detect, design, and execute activities to optimise the provision of diagnostics associated with the respective oncology brands.
  • Develops policy proposals (e.g expanded funding proposal, policy impact & feasibility analysis, narrative & engagement plan), aligned with Local & Global Diagnostics functions.

Develop, implement and track diagnostic strategy

  • Cocreate with the Dx teams the national diagnostic strategy for the current and future Oncology portfolio, leading the regional and national policy.
  • As part of the Early Access team, proposes improvement plans to identify gaps (e.g. budgetary) and limitations as well as opportunities for diagnostics testing across different tumour types.
  • Supports evaluation, piloting and adoption of sustainable approaches to financing the future of cancer care.
  • Generates policy related insights to shape national brand strategy and tactics in close collaboration with Local infield Diagnostics functions.
  • Ensures inmarket testing excellence for all product launches, including market readiness evaluation to inform go/no go decisions.

Improving the testing environment

  • Supports inmarket deployment of future testing solutions as required.
  • Works with P&MA to identify innovative access / reimbursement solutions for Precision Medicine.

Build capability in internal and external stakeholders

  • Acts as an educational resource to internal colleagues:
  • Leads, engages, and partners with all members of the cross-functional team on all policy-related activities to ensure AZ's Oncology products' launch readiness and optimal therapy launch.
  • Provisions key inputs to P&MA strategy and early access strategy.

People

  • Collaborates at local level with Diagnostics, Corporate Affairs, Early Access Teams.

Compliance

  • Complies with all external regulations and internal policies.
  • Ensures that all activities related to the role and the unit comply with applicable external and internal regulations (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and Code of Conduct).

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

  • University degree in life sciences, medical or pharmacy.
  • Experience of broad range of oncology, molecular biology, oncology diagnostic, pathology, and therapeutic marketing.
  • Proven experience with a broad base of external stakeholders including pathologist, molecular experts, prescribers, payers, providers, and track record of effective management of decisionmaking bodies and governance.

Desirable

  • At least 5 years of experience in Oncology therapeutic area.
  • Postgraduate qualification in health economics or life sciences.
  • Knowledge and experience in AZ strategic oncology therapy areas.
