  • Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 770 staff from 55 countries.

    Context And Mission
  • The Social Link Analytics research group is growing, attracting both young talent and resources. This growth requires a stronger structure in which researchers with experience take responsibility and action in the group's growth. This position is intended to fit a middlehigh position, with several students and developers to manage and research and development to lead.
    Key Duties
  • Leading development efforts of projects related to Ethical, Legal, Socioeconomic and Cultural elements of Artificial Intelligence, mostly applied to fields of particular interest (e.g., life sciences).
  • Support the Life Sciences department's projects and proposals with ethical and technical support for AI and emerging technologies.
  • In the Life Sciences Department, establish a group that focuses on ethics and technology.
  • Guiding research lines for the group within ELSEC-AI.
  • Handling part of the relations of the groups with other institutions of interest (both public and private).
  • Managing students in an efficient work environment

Requirements:


  • Education
  • Degree in Informatics Engineering
  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Frontend and backend development 35 years
  • Experience in writing and managing proposals and projects of the European funding frameworks 35 years
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Experience with Ethic Committees
  • Assessment of Digital and AI-Based technologies
  • Competences
  • Leadership of groups.
  • English fluent, Spanish Fluent & Catalan Fluent. Other Languages will be considered as a merit

Conditions

  • The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department
