Job Title: Applied Scientist, ATS Machine Learning & Engineering

We are seeking an exceptional Applied Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of state-of-the-art machine learning systems for Amazon's transportation network.

As part of this team, you will focus on researching and developing machine learning solutions and algorithms for core planning systems and other applications within Amazon Transportation Services. Your work will impact the future of the Amazon delivery network.

Our current research areas include:

Machine learning forecasting
Planning systems and robust decision making on large networks
Uncertainty quantification
Generative models on graphs
Machine learning explainability

Successful candidates will have a strong academic background in machine learning, time series forecasting, and/or optimization.

About the Team:

The EU ATS Science and Technology (SnT) team owns scalable algorithms, models, and systems that improve customer experience in middle-mile. We work backwards from Amazon's customers aiming to make transportation faster, cheaper, safer, more reliable, and ecologically sustainable.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD or Master's degree in CS, CE, ML, or related field
Experience in building models for business application
Experience with patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or related language
Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using Unix/Linux
Professional software development experience

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $160,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
