To strengthen our Global IT Hub in Barcelona, we are looking for an IT Product Owner for our Azure platform within our Analytics, Data and Integration (ADI) team.

The role

  • As the Product Owner of our Azure for Analytics platform you will be responsible for further developing the set of services we offer (automations, development standards, tool positioning etc.) to hundreds of data engineer and scientists across world in collaboration with the global product manager.
  • You will help drive the product strategy (i.e. vision and roadmap) in accordance with our customer needs and act as a key information conduit for the development teams.
  • You will own the product backlog and will be in collaboration with the PM responsible for prioritization and value delivery in the product lifecycle.

Although this position will only require limited hands-on work it is essential as a technical platform owner to have the necessary technical skills to oversee and coach the development teams.

What you'll do:


  • Ensures that increments and releases delivered are in line with the midlongterm strategy; works with the IT Product Manager to build and ensure delivery of the Product Roadmap and Vision.
  • Ensure product/platform governance and compliance. Coordinate vendor engagement and activities as needed, aligned with Product Manager.
  • Advocates for the receiver by observing and interacting with users, reviewing feedback, and defining personas to guide development. Observes, learns and analyzes the market and technology trends.
  • Ensures that user stories and fixes are prepared with clear description and acceptance criteria so that the team is aligned on what is to be delivered; specifies acceptance Leads daytoday backlog management (including refinement and prioritization) and release planning. Makes key decisions to accept or reject work based on various inputs and provides user stories for sprint planning.
  • Helps team to improve their process and tighten the feedback loop on the product.
  • Inspires, recognizes achievements, and provides constructive feedback in retrospectives.
  • Helps communicate product progress, new features and releases to receivers and stakeholders

Minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor/master's degree in computer science with career focus in the Analytics space e.g. Data Engineer, Architecture etc.
  • 3 years plus of handson experience with the Azure cloud platform (Analytics, networking, security, infrastructure setup etc.) any certifications are a plus
  • Ability to independently break down a complex problem, scope up the relevant work and see it through to completion with your team. Drive for getting things done
  • Effectively convey complex and technical issues to diverse audiences
  • Entrepreneurial: experimenting, being wrong, accepting constructive
- feedback, adapting, and moving on

  • Familiar with CI/CD processes, infrastructure and documentation as a code
  • Project Management education and experience e.g. Scrum Master, PMP
  • Familiar with Agile principles and Scrum: drafting User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and Acceptance Tests; leading Planning and Prioritization; defining user profiles and guiding development as voice of the customer

Bonus points if you have:


  • Leadership experience is desirable, working with decentralized teams in multiple locations.
  • A good understanding of data engineering, information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards.
  • Strong experience with effective communication at different levels in the organization and in English.
