IESE's Learning Innovation Unit (LIU)

  • LIU's mission is to support IESE in providing innovative worldclass business education globally. We work across contexts (online, blended, facetoface, hybrid), modes (synchronous and asynchronous), and program types (degree and nondegree).
  • Constantly watching new learning trends and technologies and guided by how the future of learning could look like, LIU offers advisory and development services based on its knowledge and expertise.
  • LIU spearheads innovation efforts together with faculty members, staff, customers, and partners with the main ambition of having the maximum impact on participants and organizations.
  • We aim to (co)create a sophisticated and comprehensive portfolio of academically rigorous and impactful learning solutions (methods, tools, approaches, infrastructure, materials, etc.) that will benefit IESE's global participants and stakeholders.

The Lifelong Learning Initiative (IESE 3L or I3L)

The 3L Initiative which is part of the Strategic Roadmap 23-25 sits under the roof of the Learning Innovation Unit.

  • The initiative's primary role is it to build new capabilities to prepare for and address important changes in the executive education field, e.g. the shorter halflife of skills, longer lived lives, postpandemic behavioral changes in hybrid work and learning, emerging incumbents offering novel value propositions and delivery models.
  • In order to deliver on this promise the team around the 3L initiative is working to ideate new concepts, test prototypes with existing and new target groups and build important capabilities within the team and throughout the organisation.
  • The undertaking is proud to count a strategic mandate with direct supervision of the I3L steering committee comprised of executive committee members, key faculty and key staff members, supporting the initiative with financial and organizational elements.
