Tasks


Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Propulsion Engineer with expertise in thermal analysis and proficiency in Python software development.

As a Propulsion Engineer at Destinus, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, modelling and optimizing propulsion systems for our diverse range of projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to ensure the thermal performance and safety of propulsion systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and test propulsion components and systems.
  • Utilize Python software expertise to develop tools and scripts for numerical simulations, data analysis, and system optimization.
  • Perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to analyze the flow behavior within propulsion components.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for propulsion components, considering thermal constraints.
  • Participate in the development and execution of test plans to validate propulsion system performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in propulsion technology, thermal analysis techniques, and software development methodologies.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's or Ph.
D. preferred

  • Fluent in English as working language. Spanish will be added advantage.
  • Proven experience in propulsion system field
  • Strong background in thermal analysis, heat transfer, and thermal management.
  • Proficiency in Python programming for numerical simulations, data analysis, and automation.
  • Experience with software tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or other thermal analysis and CFD simulation software.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, preferentially in Siemens tool suite: NX, PLM and Teamcenter.
  • Capable of interpreting engineering DWGs, system P&IDs, engineering data, analysis results and reports
  • Knowledge of project/program planning and execution
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
