Local Unit & Position Description:
DNV - Energy Systems division is seeking a
Wind Energy Consultant - Engineer to join our Project Development and Analytics team in Spain. This role is to enhance capabilities and increase resources of the Project Development and Analytics (PD&A) team, which is responsible to support developers from the prospection phase, development, and operation.
Energy production assessments, both preconstruction and operational, are the main service we provide to developers, investors, operators or lenders. We are looking for an analyst with experience dealing with data produced by operational wind farms (SCADA signals and energy)
Key tasks:
- Analyzing SCADA data and alarms
- Analyzing wind and other climatic data
- Monitor performance issues and O&M of a wind farm
- Assessing longterm wind farm energy production
- Writing technical reports and communicating results to clients
- Collaborating on the preparation of service proposals and follow up with clients as required
- Collaborating and briefing with colleagues worldwide on technical topics.
Position Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant
Engineering, Physics or Mathematics: - At least
2 years of experience in a similar role
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
Technical competencies:
- Experience in performing energy production assessments for operational wind farms
- Proficiency with SCADA data analysis
- Aptitude in the statistical analysis of data including relevant tools and software
- Proficiency with MS Office Word/Excel/Access
- SQL knowledge
- Strong overall computer skills and ability to learn multiple software tools, programming in Python is highly valued
- Understanding of wind energy industry measurement techniques and standards
