Data center & Infrastructure Technician - Contract - Valencia

New autonomo freelance opportunity for a Data center Technician to join a group of talented professionals supporting infrastructure operations and carrying out physical activities including the installation of DC hardware and components, monitoring, configuring, troubleshooting, performance and capacity planning.

You'll work with the team onsite at the client's datacentre in Valencia, Spain for 2 or 3 days each week, the other days working remotely.

You can onboard in July 2023 after a single stage Teams interview. The initial contract will run until 31 st December with regular 6 month renewals thereafter and lasting multiple years.

As a Data center Technician your activities will include:

Rack and Blade servers, this requires knowledge and proved hands-on experience on (HPE, Dell, etc), server technologies (HPE c7000/Synergy and standalone servers) and good understanding of enterprise networking (Ethernet and TCP/IP).

The physical installation, management, maintenance of ICT cabling Infrastructure inside the Data Center mainly in the areas of physical cabling and DC facilities.

Final testing and deployment of physical Data Center devices as well as all related technical documentation.
Handle incident resolution and participate in the problem resolution, preventive maintenance related to Datacentre facility environment.
Participate in the out-of-hours duty roster and Stand-by services, as required.
Perform other duties, as required.

You will have:

Ability to manage, maintain, support, configure, monitor and troubleshoot of ICC's Compute infrastructure Systems including HP's Enclosures, Proliant servers and IO modules (Network/storage).

Ability to keep up-to-date firmware in HP's Enclosures, Proliant servers and IO modules.
Good knowledge and experience on HP Proliant Server monitoring and administration tools: Netbox, HP One view, etc.
Good knowledge of Data Center operations including physical installation of Data Center devices, working experience of rack accessories like PDU or CMC and associated management software
Sound knowledge of structured cabling including racking and mounting of network equipment (routers, switches, servers, appliances)
Good understanding and knowledge of networking technologies (Ethernet, Routing, ARP, TCP/IP, LACP, etc).
Good knowledge of Data Center cables and cabling techniques and familiarity with international standards, (ANSI/TIA, EIA, BICSI)
