JOB DESCRIPTION


Qair is an independent power producer of exclusively renewable energy developing, financing, building, and operating solar, onshore and offshore wind, hydroelectric, and green hydrogen projects for over 30 years.

Based on a global and local strategy, Qair designs and implements solutions tailored to each territory and offers bespoke financial packages to local authorities and industrialists.


The Group is developing its Renewable Energy activity in Spain and Portugal and tends to strengthen its skills in project development.


Within the Qair Iberian team, and reporting to the Head of Project Development, the Project Development Manager will lead the development of large wind projects (multi-megawatt project) as part of the Group's strategy in Spain and Portugal.

The position will be based at Madrid Qair's Office. Available for business trips in Spain and Portugal.


MAIN TASKS
The main duties of the Project Manager will be:

  • Originate and lead the identification of Wind potential Projects to be developed, evaluate their technical and economical feasibility of the projects. Projects may also hybridized with other renewable energy technologies, including photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage amongst other possibilities.
  • Lead site prefeasibility assessments for renewable energy Project locations on which to further develop, build and operate a power plant.
  • Develop the project portfolio with a strong focus in the inhouse greenfield activity, including also establishing project development partnerships, managing the relationship with key stakeholders as landowners, grid operators and, administrations.
  • Lead all the project development and permitting phases (from site identification, securing suitable project locations, negotiate land leases/acquisitions and manage landowner relationships until COD), including meeting with the administration and the grid operator, ensuring the issuance of all the permits in due time.
  • Provide assistance in the followup of the technical and economic files related to the Capacity Tenders in Spain ("Concursos de Capacidad").
  • Evaluate the local, provincial, regional and national regulation and norms for the development of renewable energy power plants (amongst other technologies, Wind, PV energy storage and their hybridization with other technologies).
  • Ensure elaboration of management reports to followup on performance, from different perspectives: financial, technical, energy market, etc. Gather all relevant information from other sources to provide a comprehensive view of performance.
  • Prepare and present investment memorandums from a greenfield project development and/or acquisition perspective if the case may happen.
  • Secure a network of key stakeholder in order to reach permitting for realization of such projects.
  • Responsible for bringing forward all necessary components for a successful Due Diligence.
  • Responsible for a smooth cooperation between the different internal departments.
  • Communicate effectively across the organization, handover effectively to the upper Management representatives.
  • Report on activities at Group management meetings.
  • Support other company departments during the negotiation process for some key contracts when required (Energy Management for PPA, Finance for Project Finance, etc.).

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Extensive experience in origination and project development of Wind energy projects

More than 3 years of experience in the sector, both in Business Development and Origination in Spain and Portugal.


She / He has a master's degree in engineering or economics, she/he already has a noteworthy experience in the development of large infrastructure wind projects in Spain and Portugal.

She / He has developed the knowledge of understanding and managing complex financial models.

She / He has good interpersonal and writing skills. Has a large network of potential local partners.

She / He is comfortable with standard IT tools and scheduling software.

She / He must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. French and/or Portuguese will be a plus.


Furthermore, She / He is rigorous, methodical and appreciates teamwork, and is able to work with a great deal of autonomy.
