Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity available to be part of the Gilead HR team based in the Spanish affiliate.

The role will report into the Senior Director HR Business Partner of the Spanish Affiliate and will support the delivery of a best in class HR service for the employees.

The scope of the role is working closely with management and employees to improve performance, enhance talent attraction, development, retention and driving change, participating in Regional and Global HR related projects on Talent and Inclusion efforts and other operational and tactical strategies.


Main responsibilities:

  • Advise and coach managers and employees on HR policy and process matters (including managing employee relation issues), making or recommending appropriate decisions and solutions consistent with HR strategic direction.
  • Partner with the business to drive positive employee experience, support leadership development and employee engagement. Collaborate with managers to identify employee development and training opportunities. Design specific training programs in collaboration with L&D.
  • Design and execute other local talent strategies including Inclusion & Diversity plan and Gilead as Employer of choice.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally e.g. centres of excellence, shared services centre, legal specialists etc.
  • Support the Reward and Talent Management processes through the provision of data and analytics and preparation of presentations to facilitate meetings and discussions. Research and analysis of HR data for assigned projects and when required, make recommendations.
  • Implement many local and compulsory actions in Spain, as LISMI, Equal opportunity plan etc.
  • Support site employee engagement initiatives, including coordination of employee events & communications.

Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Ability to operate in a matrix environment. Experience supporting HR activities and exposure to working with HR Shared Services model desirable.
  • Experience with working to tight deadlines in an environment where priorities and delivery matter. Process and results orientation, attention to detail.
  • Experience and proven track record of providing and maintaining accurate data.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills both in Spanish and English.
  • Act as an advocate of HR promoting company values (accountability, excellence, teamwork, integrity and inclusion).
  • Personal attributes of flexibility, enthusiasm and professionalism. Must possess indepth influencing skills.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint and an enthusiasm to learn.
Experience using Workday would be desirable but not essential.

  • Knowledge and understanding of HR legislation/employment law and best practice.
