About the role:


DNV's Wind & Solar Technology Testing Team delivers high-quality analysis to ensure that wind turbines, solar plants, hydroelectric and other conventional power plants perform to expectations.

We are engineers, scientists and business experts dedicated to the success of energy industry.

We verify through measurements, simulations and certification processes that power plants will produce energy in line with expectations and have a useful lifetime consistent with their design.


The Grid Code Compliance team consists of electrical engineers who are dealing with the verification of Grid Code Compliance performance of power plants, from early stages to final certification.

The team handles simulations, testing and assessment on behavior in events such as "Fault Ride through (FRT)"- tests, harmonics, flicker, reactive and active power control, and some others around the globe with emphasis in the home region in Spain.


Your responsibilities will focus on:

  • Electrical simulations for grid code compliance purposes.
  • Project, electrical components, and power plants certification. Including assessment and reporting of results and technical documentation received.
  • Technical report writing, critical reviewing and professional presentation to clients.
  • Support in project management of grid code compliance projects (scope, schedule, costs).
  • Developing tools and processes to continuously improve the quality and value of delivery.

Other task may include:

  • Installation and commissioning of measurement systems for Grid Code Compliance or Power quality verification on power plants.
  • Onsite testing, data monitoring and analysis.
  • Troubleshooting on data acquisition systems and sensors.
  • Measurement equipment specification, procurement, preparation.
  • Monitoring and analysis of data from measurements campaigns according to international standards and internal best practices.

About you:


  • Engineering degree in Electrical/Energetic/Mechanical/Physics or any similar/equivalent field and level.
  • Proficiency in both MS Office Word and Excel.
  • High level of electrical knowledge regarding power grids.
  • User level of electrical simulation tool Power Factory (Dig Silent)
  • Overall computer skills and willingness to learn multiple software tools.
  • Native (fluent) in Spanish and high level of written and verbal communication skills in English. Italian or German would be a plus.
  • Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.

Additionally, we look for (not mandatory):

  • Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of electrical grid codes.
  • Previous energy, consulting, project management, electronics experience, or credentials.
  • MATLAB, PYTHON, IMC FAMOS programming experience.
