    What We Are Looking for:

ISGlobal is seeking a Master's level researcher in data management and statistics to work on an immunology and infectious disease research project performed by the Malaria Immunology Group.

The overall goals are to identify factors affecting antibody responses in infancy in a mother and child cohort from Mozambique using multidimensional clinical, epidemiological, immunological and molecular data.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Management and analysis of immunological data generated in studies of biomarkers and immune correlates of protection against infection or vaccination. Activities carried out in the project aim to investigate mechanisms of naturally acquired or vaccineinduced protection against infectious diseases, and identify factors affecting their development and impact on diseases.

Specific Duties:


  • To manipulate and analyze highdimensional data sets requires programming and database skills, such as R, and data visualization and presentation tools, to turn complex analysis into information

Deliverables:


  • ImmunoMiPPADchild database cleaning
  • Analysis of factors affecting antibody responses in infants from the immunoMIPPADchild cohort
  • Manuscript preparation (graphs, tables and methods)

Auxiliar task:

Training and experience /Qualifications:


  • Degree/Master in data science, biostatistics, bioinformatics, mathematics, physics, or related topics,
  • Knowledge of predictive analysis, modeling and machine learning is required to analyze complex immunological data sets

Specific Requirements:


  • The purpose of the position is to ensure that complex datasets with clinical, demographic, immunological data collected in immunology studies are organized in a standard format and available for statistical analysis at ISGlobal, to facilitate completion of the Analytical Plans and perform Data Analysis. The position will require experience in data management and statistics. The position is based at ISGlobal in Barcelona.
  • General knowledge of the principles of biology and basic clinical science, and able to turn analytical methodology / processes into clear terms for presenting data in an understandable way.
  • Experience with database management software including R, and Excel / CSV files.
  • Experience in programming for statistical analysis, preferably with R
  • Experience/knowledge in analysing complex multidimensional data using machine learning methods
  • Experience in analysis of immunological and infectious diseases data would be an asset.
  • Motivated researcher capable of setting and meeting deadlines and delivering research outputs to the required standard
  • Strong organization and teamworking and multitasking skills
  • Professional attitude with attention to details

Selection Process:


The selection process is designed in two phases:1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation.

To assess the person's skills and CV.

  • Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
