The Layout artist generates the previz of the film in accordance with the established storytelling guidelines to show how the characters and environments appear on camera.

Responsibilities:

Constructs shots in 3d space to provide a visual runthrough of the sets.
Communicates the story based on the storyboards and gives a cinematic aspect to the scenes.
Aids in the rough layout of the scenes following the storyboards to show how the characters and environments appear on camera.
Utilizes storyboard animatics to create 3d scenes through character blocking and acting.
Applies the visuals provided by character design and modelling to create the rough layout of the scenes.
Works together with the team providing them with support, guidance and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth.
Follows the Supervisor's and Lead's guidance.
Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
Breaks down the scenes correctly and manages own work.

Requirements:

5+years in VFX or animation industries.
3+ years in the animation industry.
Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
Knows how to use elements to stage camera blocking.
Knowledge of photography and storytelling.
Experience in Maya.
Experience with nonlinear editing tools such as Premiere, Hiero, DaVinci resolve...
Realtime engine experience is a plus.
Linux experience is a plus.
High English level desirable.
Spanish desirable.
