The Role

Vantage has an open Technical Manager opportunity in the Region EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). This is a key role on an established team.

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic professional who has a proven track record in personal care and cosmetic formulations and new product development.

This role will be based preferably in Barcelona, Spain serving European customers with a focus on UK, Poland, Germany and other northern European countries.

POSITION SCOPE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Supports customers in selecting the right Vantage products. Manage the technical opportunity pipeline and coordinate technical projects with internal R&D and customers.- New Product and formulation development for hair, dental, skin care as well cosmetic formulation expertise- Developing formulations of Personal Care, Skin Care, and Color Cosmetics products.- Researching materials new materials for personal care and cosmetics, such as botanicals, actives, emulsifiers, surfactants, emollients, natural oils and other specialties.- Conducting testing of new formulas by knowledge of chemistry and biology. Meeting with clients to discuss their needs and preferences in terms of product type and functional attributes.- Connect with Formulation Lab on new customer request, trends, and new product development.- Establish credibility and expand professional networks with formulators and scientists at key customers from bench chemists to senior decision makers to ensure early access to customer opportunities and briefs.- Lead product launches webinar, trade shows and technical forum presentation.- Collect, and communicate back to the Vantage marketing and technical organizations customer/market unmet needs to drive relevant product development activities within Vantage.- Lead Customer Innovation days

Desired Background- University Degree in Chemistry or education as Lab technician combined with strong experience in Technical Service

Knowledge, Skills & Talents- Minimum of five (5) years to Seven (7)' of demonstrated experience and proven success in technical service of chemicals products, on formulations related with Personal Care and Cosmetics.- Knowledge of product formulations and/or development- Clear pragmatic solution driven approach to customers' needs and challenges.- Capability to research, understand, and develop both current and prospective customers.- Multicultural understanding- Strong planning, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for the needs of the audience and ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to customers and staff at all levels.- Good understanding of Market trends and ability to use this knowledge while talking with external and internal customers.- Fluent English- Willingness and ability to travel 25% or more of the time.

Travel is a mix of day and overnight trips.
