Purpose of position
The purpose of the position is the management of Retail Solutions (RS) customers' projects, from their inception until conclusion.


The role is paramount to execute the RS business and the generation of Operating Profit (OP) in the European organization, through the flawless execution of RS projects.


RS Project Management

  • The role holds accountability for the coordination and success (time and scope) of the assigned RS projects: from their early phases to their approval and launch until their successful completion.
  • The accountability covers the whole projects life span, from the collection and formalization of requirements till the project conclusion and customers' acceptance of the agreed deliveries, requiring and orchestrating other functions and third parties' services and deliverables while challenging them for efficiency stretches and continuous improvement as well as on time delivery with the expected quality.
  • The function actively provides transparent and regular reporting to the European RS Management, internal stakeholders and Customers, implementing and making use of corporate tools and best practices as for example Accelerated Product Development (APD), Daily Management (DM), Visual Project Management (VPM) and Problem-Solving Process (PSP).
  • The role at the same time challenges the regional sales functions and provides them support for RS commercial activities with customers, tenders, preparation of business cases, as well as giving assistance and support for sales reviews and sales forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
The
Project Manager ensures the success of Retail Solutions projects holding the following key responsibilities

  • Build and sustain a consistent Standard Work (SW) and Daily management (DM) for projects management.
  • Consistently and transparently communicates and reports to other functions, customer and stakeholders, promptly escalating to management in case of projects criticalities.
  • Holds accountability for assigned projects launch and execution, from the inception to completion:
  • Develops RACI matrixes and runs risk assessment & mitigation plans.
  • Validates the business cases prepared by/with Sales teams, by getting cost estimates by involved functions.
  • Ensures that customers' requirements are collected, formalized and approved, consulting customers to adopt solutions that matches our availability and roadmap, minimizing ad hoc customizations as much as possible.
  • Collaborates with Product Owners to feed the company's agile development processes (SAFe/PI).
  • Keeps alignment with Product Management and R&D to maximize solutions reusability.
  • Builds overall Project time plans (Gantt charts) and drives the business case creation with management together with Sales and Business Development obtain funds for projects execution.
  • Ensures that relevant projects and project plans are developed and cascades topdown objectives to other functions gaining commitments to relevant milestones, negotiating where room for.
  • Actively drives recurrent project reviews, both with internal functions and with Customers, highlighting deviations and risks, coordinating countermeasures.
  • Acts the internal Project references for other functions during the project duration.
  • Manages commercial aspects of Change Requests, coordinating with the customer's account manager, for any solutions already in use by customers:
  • Creates and issues commercial quotations about Change Requests following them up until customer's order and then their execution.
  • Individuates new opportunities for new projects or new software services during the execution of current projects.

Personal Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years' Experience in Project Management
  • Commercial agility and background is preferred
  • Retail Solutions background or experience is a plus
  • PMP certification is a plus

Language Skills

  • Portuguese and/or Spanish as primary language/s
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
  • Other European languages are welcome.
