Since 2019, and thanks to the support from the European Commission, OpenNebula Systems has been leading the edge computing innovation in Europe, investing heavily in research and open source development, and playing a key role in strategic EU initiatives such as the IPCEI-CIS and the "European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud".
We are currently looking for a Cloud-Edge Systems Technical Expert (Contractor) to come and join us in Europe as part of our new team developing the next generation management platform for the Cloud-Edge Computing Continuum.
Objective
Cloud-Edge Systems Technical Experts play a pivotal role in planning, designing, implementing and operating innovative cloud-edge solutions.
Your expertise will guide the transformation of complex use cases requirements into efficient and scalable cloud-edge strategies, ensuring the sustainability and security of the new management platform.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated processes, tools and material to enhance knowledge transfer and providing expert advice on cloud-edge technologies and best practices.
You'll work in an agile environment to design, develop, test, maintain and validate with use cases a next generation management platform for the Cloud-Edge Computing Continuum.
Services
- Defining, developing and delivering programs, tools and custom material to improve cloudedge systems deployment and operation
- Creating and delivering technical instructions and demonstrations
- Defining and delivering a transfer knowledge program
- Building and maintaining Ansible playbooks to automate lab building
- Updating and maintaining existing material and labs
- Closely work together with all the Teams and Units to determine program needs, and ensure the products meet use case demands and achieve project KPIs
Duration
From 1st May 2024 to 30 June months)
Location
Remote (occasionally F2F coordination meetings)
Budget
Maximum hourly rate is 40 euros
Maximum work hours per year is 1.800
The maximum estimated cost is 6.267 euros per month, and a total of euros.
Technical Specifications
Contractors must demonstrate the following requirements:
- Bachelor in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Evaluation Criteria
Eligible contractors will be prioritized according to the following criteria:
- Price: Cost per hour
- Additional Education: Master or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Additional Experience: Number of years of experience in projects to improve cloudedge systems deployment and operation
Technical Skills:
Experience in cloud computing orchestration, security and monitoring tools
Administrative Specifications
Before the signature of the contract, the successful selected contractor will be requested to provide the following certificates:
- Positive certificate, issued by the local Social Security Authority, to the effect that the contractor is up-to-date in compliance with its Social Security obligations; or similar document according to the the law of the country in which the contractor is established
- Positive certificate, issued by the local Tax Authority, to the effect that the contractor is uptodate in compliance with its tax obligations; or similar document according to the the law of the country in which the contractor is established
The successful selected contractor will be given a two weeks period after the notification of the award to provide the above-mentioned documents.
