Perform metallographic testing and destructive testing based on customer and AWS requirements, according to production schedule.

Prepare GMAW (MIG/MAG) welding samples, read and understand results of metallographic samples and mechanical tests, generate reports with the results.

Participate in conjunction with the new project launch engineering team for the collection of data test.


Specific Responsibilities:

Sample traceabilityData record of samplesIdentification of physical samplesSample extraction and weld analysis (Cut & Etch - Macro attack)Cutting, potting and polish.

Skill in handling mechanical, hydraulic, power tools.
Chemical attack, cleaning and preparation.

Measurement and interpretation of results (measurements of different types of joints:
filet, lap, tee, V according to standard CQI-15/AWS).Recording of results in format and storage of samples.

Detection of internal weld defectsPerform Mechanical Tests and analysis of resultsKnowledge of mechanical tests (compression, tensile and torsion).Identification of fixtures for mechanical testing.

Knowledge and skill in the handling of measuring equipment:
universal machine, microscope/stereoscope, calipers.
Interpretation of results (elongation limit, maximum force, breaking limit and pull parent material).
