Iberia Risk team key missions are to monitor and control day to day activities of the different trading desks but also to support them by securing their activity (alert trader on risk level on-boarded) and whenever possible advising them using a risk/reward approach.
GEMS Iberia focus on trading and origination from various activity type: B2B sales, Market Making activity (interaction with Sales for the client portfolio) and Internal Risk Management activity (hedging of the positions taken by other BPs on energy commodities markets).
The perimeter includes vanilla and complex operations on Gas, Power and Environmental products (Emissions, Guarantee of Origin), physical and financial, and real time optimization/dispatching.
As any trading entity, the Risk functions are key requiring a good understanding of the market behavior and a high integrity level.
Iberia is one of the main growth markets of the Engie Group, as demonstrated by the 2bn EUR acquisition of hydro assets in Portugal in 2020, and the recently announced 2bn EUR acquisition of Eolia's portfolio in Spain.
