Airbus Engineering is facing a big challenge in the data management activities in new critical Programs

We must define the requested data management concepts, architectures,

processes and tools in FCAS program.


Solutions must be elaborated, decided and implemented (by IM, in close cooperation) for a common use in Spain and Germany.

We should also introduce step-by-step a digital end-to-end process for Data Management in this Program.

Therefore we are looking for a Project Manager driving and

coorrdinating the following main activities in this context.

The successful applicant will join Engineering Department.


Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Capture, harmonize and agree business needs and requirements with the affected CoC's/stakeholders
  • Analyse the "As-Is" situation in Military Aircraft Engineering and beyond and identify improvement opportunities in close cooperation with the affected CoC's/stakeholders and derive potential solutions, supporting the decisions with the necessary recommendations
- define overall integration concepts considering national/site specific environments, Data (and Config) Management strategies and relevant DPC (DigitalProduct Continuity) architecture elements etc.
- create the specification of the systems, tools and their interfaces (to be implemented by IM), define the schedules and control the test and validation of
- the systems/tools implementation
- define the work packages and schedules for IM and control the implementation of the solutions
- define and adapt the DMS in Spain and Germany with a common way of working and improvements, as well as other tools Confluence, Jira,.. (incl. a common document numbering scheme, customized document templates and signature rules for the digital work flows for electronic validation and advanced digital signature)
- test and validation of the systems/tools
- define, plan and support of pilot deployments and feeding back the experiences into system/concept improvements
- establish the new/updated processes and document them by the relevant procedures
- plan, set-up and perform user training and support and provide appropriate communication


Required skills

  • Data manager, Engineer, IT or equivalent
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Basic knowledge in configuration control, aircraft design regulations and development processes preferable
  • Experience Document Management Systems preferable or similar document management and collaborative tools
  • IT and digital skills (databases, data formats, architectures, etc
  • English (written and spoken)
  • Experience & Knowledge in solving problems
  • Ability to innovate and generate creative solutions
  • Ability to challenge and orchestrate the business/stakeholders
  • Advanced presentation and negotiation skills when "selling" new ideas
- and concepts convincing the stakeholders
