Context And Mission
In the field of Life Sciences, we are seeking a Researcher specializing in computational systems biology. This role involves simulating biological networks at various time scales, focusing on developing innovative approaches for molecular and cellular simulations. Specifically, we emphasize genome-scale metabolic models, Boolean regulatory networks, and agent-based models. Additionally, integrating omic data to validate model predictions is a key aspect. The goal is to create multi-scale simulations that can be adapted for parallel environments and deployed on HPC platforms.
Key Duties
- Codesign multiscale simulation tools for various architectures.
- Design, implement, and deploy unit tests to assess code scalability and efficiency.
- Develop efficient tools for simulating biological processes using different modeling approaches.
- Integrate multiomics data into models to identify therapeutic targets.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Proven expertise in bioinformatics and computational biology.
- Strong background in computer simulation of biological processes.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems and HPC.
- Experience in scientific project preparation and progress reporting.
- Ability to mentor and advise students.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Capacity to explain technical concepts to non-experts.
- Proactive, creative, and collaborative mindset.
