**Wind Engineering Project Lead provides technical support across all areas of the organization for Wind projects, Offshore and Onshore, reporting directly to the Wind Technical Manager. Lead and manage all projects related matters from early development and pre-construction phases to projects in construction up to O&M stages including technical specifications definition, design optimization maximizing yield and optimizing LCOE.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support in the project development process, including potential acquisitions across all disciplines: electrical, civil, mechanical, interconnection, and yield.
  • Provide support in the permitting process, feasibility and FEED studies, preconstruction engineering, and planning in offshore wind projects.
  • Lead technical due diligence and manage consultants.
  • Follow up local regulations, auction processes, manage potential technical risks, prepare expressions of interest. Lead technical bidding processes associated to auctions.
  • Take care of energy yield assessments using simulation tools. Undertake LCOE analysis and optimizations supporting the Generation area.
  • Lead and support the development, including basic design and analysis from a conceptual model: layout, SLD, equipment selection, and civils based on WTG technical specifications. Optimize the layout to maximize the costbenefit function.
  • Deep understanding of wind resource measuring campaigns, modeling tools, layout, and micrositing, and WTG performance.
  • Prepare Technical Specifications, Employer requirements, Request for Proposals, etc.
  • Interact and support construction and business areas and serve as the main point of competence for its area of knowledge.
  • Coordinate and conduct site visits to support site evaluation.
  • Undertake, together with other functions, the following analysis: curtailment, WTG performance, project risks, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Strong background in the wind industry, onshore and offshore, with a proven track record and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of wind turbine generator (WTG) technologies, including main components and types, as well as the current state of the art.
  • Desirable experience and knowledge in offshore wind, including floating foundation design, subsea/marine activities, HV subsea cables, construction design (steel and concrete), industrialization, heavylift operations, geophysical and metocean campaigns, etc.
  • Deep understanding of wind farmrelated disciplines and designs. Familiarity with project definition, discipline splits and optimization.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Driving license (B).
  • Fluent English is a must (C1).
  • Experience in leading tendering processes, contract negotiations, and detailed commercial delivery contracts for ownersupplied equipment, enabling contracts, and balance of plant contracts.
  • Experience in dealing with health and safety and environmental regulations associated with the delivery of onshore and offshore works.
  • Experience in certification processes for offshore wind projects, with classification societies such as DNV, BV, ABS, etc.
  • Wind Energy Resource assessment. Proficiency in wind simulation tools is a must, including good knowledge of the factors affecting wind farm plant performance. Experience in micrositing and farms optimization.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, QGIS, Google Earth, and Office Package.
  • Acceptable understanding of the logics of wind farms execution models and O&M contracts. Experience in drafting and negotiating technical specifications and annexes.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, strategic vision, push to make things happen, and commercially astute. Capacity to work unsupervised.
  • Proactive, autonomous, flexible, and able to prioritize. Anticipation capacity and problem solver and solution provider.
  • Balance technical detail with commercial needs and provide recommendations, considering all relevant risks.
