ES- Población: Madrid- Unidad de negocio: EDP RENEWABLES EUROPE,S.LThe Contracs Manager will be integrated into the Operational Support department with the mission of developing, evaluating, negotiating, and ensuring the timely and correct execution of the different contracts for the renewable energies' projects (EPCs, Wind Turbine & PV Modules, trackers, inverters Supply and Installation Contracts, BOP/BOS Contracts, Logistics, O&M Contracts, etc.), aligning the contractual framework and contract(s) specifications to the project's objectives and contractual strategy.

With an specific focus on risk mitigation, the Contracs Manager will manage all the project contracts and related technical, management and legal documents during all the construction phase of the project.

The Contracs Manager will work in very close coordination with the Project Manager, Construction Team and Legal & Procurement departments.


The Contracs Manager will also implement the necessary procedures for the correct management of the contracts and will train involved teams (especially the E&C teams) on the necessary steps to be followed to keep such correct contract management.


This Contracs Manager will implement a contract management system that allows the company to reduce the risks associated with the execution of the contracts, in close collaboration with the rest of the areas involved (especially Procurement and Legal).


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Implement a contract management procedure and train EDPR E&C teams in handling said procedure;
  • Lead the handover procedure of executed contracts from the Procurement team to the E&C team, ensuring that the main points of the contract are known by the Project Managers, as well as its correct management during the life of the contract;
  • Ensure that all contract and risk management activities are timely, accurately monitored, and carried out throughout the full project lifecycle;
  • Ensure effective and timely formal and informal communications to contractors, suppliers, service providers, and other counterparties of the contracts;
  • Implement procedures to correctly identify and maintain an updated facts and events traceability matrix;
  • Prepare claims/change orders as they arise, in order to request additional LDs, cost, or time compensation, communicating, if applicable, excusable events or challenging the requests performed by the counterparties in the contracts;
  • Advise Project Team on EDPR's contractual entitlements and opportunities to protect cash flow, margins, and prevention of disputes;
  • Participate in the process of improvement and/or update of the contracts templates, transferring the knowledge about the lessons learned during the execution of the contracts;
  • Fully document any material events which may result in formal dispute, as required by the legal team, to ensure EDPR ́s position;
  • Evaluating the performance and execution of suppliers including justified ranking of ones;
  • Additional duties as may be required.

REQUIRED PROFILE

1- REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor of Industrial Engineer/Business Administration degree specialized on contract and claims management.


2- REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience managing key contracts, at negotiation and management roles in the renewables industry. Expert in change orders procedures, proficient at cost management, claims and deviations with contractors and shareholders.
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements of a project and risks inherent to the construction and management phase in the renewables sector.
  • Goal orientated working in collaboration with internal and external departments.
  • Ability to work in a multinational working environment with projects in different geographies.

3- SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of construction phases within renewable projects, cost estimating, budged forecasts, especially regarding Wind Farms, PV Plants, High Voltages Lines and Electrical Substations projects.
  • Understanding of market standard and the innovations regarding contractual and regulatory requirements for constructing and operating renewable assets
  • Proven experience in International Arbitration would be positively considered.
  • Proven experience managing contracts for largescale projects in the Industrial or Energy sector.
  • Proven Experience acting as Contracs Manager or equivalent management responsibilities in the sector.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power Point.

4- LANGUAGES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill (English and Spanish): any other language will be an advantage.
  • Fluency in Portuguese, French or Italian is a plus.
